Middleton-On-Sea

County Gutters was approached to design, manufacture, and install 13 bespoke hopper heads and rainwater pipes for a 1930s Art Deco property in Middleton-on-Sea, West Sussex. The client had faced challenges working with other companies before being referred to us. The project required a high level of precision to match the distinctive architectural features of the house while incorporating the plinths along the wall into the design of the hoppers and rainwater pipes.

The primary challenge was to create a seamless integration of the building's original features with the custom-made rainwater system. After presenting an initial design and making a few adjustments based on the client's feedback, the final design was approved, and the manufacturing process began. This bespoke approach ensured that the new system not only functioned effectively but also blended perfectly with the property's unique architectural style.

Given the property’s beachfront location, it was crucial to select materials that would withstand the harsh coastal environment. To address this, all materials used were marine-grade polyester powder coated, providing durability and protection against the corrosive effects of saltwater. Additionally, A4 stainless steel fixings were chosen for their resistance to rust and long-term performance, ensuring the system would stand the test of time.

In the end, the project successfully met both the functional and aesthetic requirements of the client. The installation of the bespoke hopper heads and rainwater pipes brought a modern, durable solution to a classic Art Deco property, enhancing its architectural charm while ensuring long-lasting protection against the elements.
