Beachern Wood

Beachern Wood, a charming country home located in the heart of the New Forest, had sadly fallen into a state of disrepair over the years. Purchased by a new owner, the property was lovingly restored to its former glory, preserving its original charm while incorporating modern touches. The homeowner, keen to ensure that every detail of the renovation was handled with care and precision, enlisted the help of County Gutters after being recommended by the roofing contractor, John James. As the only company in the area equipped to undertake such a bespoke installation, we were delighted to be part of this impressive restoration project.

To ensure the guttering and downpipes were suitably designed for the property, roof calculations were conducted, predicting the amount of rainfall the home would be exposed to. These calculations formed the basis for selecting the appropriate size for the gutters and downpipes. After thorough discussions with the client, a decision was made to install a 150mm beaded half-round guttering system, paired with 101mm round cast collar rainwater pipes. This choice was made to provide the best performance while maintaining the aesthetic appeal of the property.

Beachern Wood guttering restoration in New Forest, Hampshire

The unique design of the property presented a few challenges. Each rainwater pipe had to incorporate an eared bend to manoeuvre around a plinth that ran around the entire building. This required customisation of the installation to ensure the guttering system remained both functional and visually seamless. Careful planning and attention to detail ensured the system was not only effective in managing water flow but also in maintaining the home’s traditional aesthetic.

After the successful completion of the main house’s guttering system, the client requested County Gutters to extend the same high-quality system to the new garage block on the property. The same 150mm beaded half-round gutters and 101mm round cast collar rainwater pipes were installed, ensuring consistency and cohesion throughout the property. This decision reflected the homeowner’s commitment to preserving the integrity of the property’s restoration, extending the care and attention to detail shown in the main house to the new addition.

The result of this project is a beautifully restored country home that blends traditional elegance with modern functionality. The bespoke guttering system not only enhances the property’s overall appearance but also ensures that it remains protected from water damage for years to come. The successful installation at Beachern Wood is a testament to County Gutters’ expertise in handling complex, bespoke projects and our commitment to delivering the highest standards of quality.

What our customers think...

Don't just take our word for it, our customers like what we're doing too.

"We purchased our 20yr old house two years ago. It had the standard black plastic gutters, with multiple leaking joints, corners and downpipes, basically they weren't of sufficient size or quality to cope with standard rainfall let alone the recent deluge of rain storms we now have. So we contacted County Gutters Ltd to quote us for aluminium seamless gutters etc. Simon arrived to explain how the aluminium system worked, the sizes, grades and styles. He provided us with samples of the different "
